C|D|I was founded in 2008 by nanotechnology veteran Ramsey Stevens. The company is the result of a series of predecessor activities working with Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs).

Based on more than 13 years of CNT research and the exclusive rights to Intellectual Property developed by Stevens while a researcher at NASA Ames Research Center, he decided to commercialize a new method for making devices based on CNTs. The Company’s first products are AFM/SPM Probes.

C|D|I Carbon Design Innovations is focused on developing the practical implementation of CNTs for a wide variety of applications. Our unique approach to manufacturing is easier, delivers higher yields, and offers customers a higher level of integration for incorporating the CNT into practical devices. The result is a family of CNT devices that can be easily embedded into a variety end uses.

In January 2008, we moved into a 1500 square foot facility in Burlingame, CA. C|D|I plans to introduce a steady stream of innovative CNT devices optimized for specific markets and application.

Today, we are creating advanced CNT probes for AFM and SPM systems that will allow our customers to improve system performance and achieve simply better results.
